Finding Your Path

Where to Start

Different freelancers come to Ramipil from different situations. This page helps you find the most useful entry point.

Which Describes You?

Recognise Your Situation

Read through these scenarios. Most freelancers find one that resonates more than the others.

A

"I'm busy but not earning what I should be"

You have consistent work. The calendar stays full. But the rates haven't moved in a while, and you're aware that you're doing more than clients are paying for. The problem isn't finding work. It's pricing and positioning.

Suggested starting point: One-to-One Consulting
B

"I want to move from doing to advising"

You've spent years executing. Now you want to work at a higher level. You know you have the expertise to advise, but you're not sure how to position that shift or find clients who'll engage you at that level.

Suggested starting point: Strategic Workshop
C

"I'm not sure what's holding me back"

Things are okay but not great. You sense there's a more effective way to run your freelance business but you can't quite identify the specific problem. An outside perspective would help.

Suggested starting point: Business Model Review
D

"I keep attracting the wrong clients"

You get enquiries, but they're rarely quite right. Too small, too price-sensitive, or just not aligned with the kind of work you want to be doing. The issue is usually positioning and how you're communicating your value.

Suggested starting point: One-to-One Consulting
Before You Reach Out

What to Expect When You Get in Touch

You reach out

Send a message through the contact page or by email. A brief description of your situation is helpful but not required. There's no form to fill or assessment to complete before making contact.

A short conversation

We'll arrange a brief call to understand your situation and what you're working towards. This shapes which service or approach makes most sense. No commitment needed at this stage.

A clear proposal

If there's a good fit, you'll receive a written outline of what the engagement would look like, what's included, and how it works. Straightforward and specific to your situation.

We begin

Once you're ready, the engagement starts. The pace and structure are designed to fit around your existing commitments and deliver useful progress from the first session.

Common Questions

Things People Often Ask

No. The studio works with freelancers at different stages. What matters more is that you've been freelancing long enough to have a real picture of how your business currently works, and that you're genuinely ready to rethink parts of it.

Ramipil has worked with freelancers across a wide range of disciplines: design, development, writing, marketing, strategy, photography, and consulting. The business model challenges are often remarkably similar across disciplines, even when the work itself is very different.

It varies. A Business Model Review is a one-off piece of work. Workshops are a single day. One-to-One Consulting engagements typically run for six to twelve weeks, though some extend longer depending on the scope of what's being worked on.

Both are possible. Most ongoing consulting work happens remotely via video call, which suits the schedules of most freelancers. Workshops can be delivered in person at the studio in Dartford or at a location that suits you, and remotely where that's preferable.

That's completely fine. Get in touch with a brief description of your situation and we'll figure out the right starting point together. The initial conversation is always without obligation.
